Pakistan Maintains Fuel Prices Through January 2026

ISLAMABAD — The Pakistani government announced on January 15, 2026, that petroleum prices will remain stable until the end of the month, providing relief to consumers amid ongoing economic challenges.

Price Details

Motor Spirit (petrol) and High-Speed Diesel will continue selling at their current rates for the next two weeks:

  • Petrol (MS): Rs. 253.17 per liter
  • High-Speed Diesel (HSD): Rs. 257.08 per liter

These rates, which took effect on January 1, 2026, were initially set for the first half of the month. The government’s decision extends the pricing freeze through January 31.

Context

Pakistan typically reviews fuel prices every two weeks based on international oil market fluctuations and currency exchange rates. The decision to maintain current rates suggests relative stability in global crude oil prices and the rupee’s exchange rate during this period.

This price continuity offers predictability for consumers, transport operators, and businesses that rely heavily on diesel, including the agriculture and logistics sectors.

The next fuel price revision is expected to be announced in early February 2026.
