Ramadan 2026 — Overview & Key Dates
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and the holiest month for Muslims worldwide. It is the month in which the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Fasting (Sawm) during Ramadan is one of the Five Pillars of Islam — obligatory for every adult Muslim who is physically able.
In 2026, Ramadan falls during late winter, with fasting hours of approximately 11 to 13 hours depending on your location. The Prophet ﷺ described Ramadan with the famous hadith: “Its beginning is mercy, its middle is forgiveness, and its end is salvation from Hellfire.”

First Ashra — Days 1 to 10 (Rahmat — Mercy of Allah)
First Ashra — الرَّحْمَة
Days 1–10 · February 18 – February 27, 2026 · Theme: Mercy (Rahmat)
The first ten days of Ramadan are the Days of Mercy (Rahmat). During this period, the gates of Allah’s infinite mercy are wide open for every believer who sincerely turns to Him. The Prophet ﷺ taught us that Allah’s mercy encompasses all things — and in the first Ashra, this mercy is at its most abundant.
Muslims are encouraged to recite this dua abundantly throughout the first ten days, especially after each Salah and during Tahajjud. Focus on gratitude, kindness to others, giving Sadaqah, and increasing your Quran recitation. Remember — showing mercy to creation is how we receive Allah’s mercy.
Second Ashra — Days 11 to 20 (Maghfirah — Forgiveness)
Second Ashra — الْمَغْفِرَة
Days 11–20 · February 28 – March 9, 2026 · Theme: Forgiveness (Maghfirah)
The second ten days of Ramadan are the Days of Forgiveness (Maghfirah). This is the time to make sincere Tawbah — to turn back to Allah with a repentant heart. Allah’s forgiveness has no limit, and no sin is too great for Him to forgive if we genuinely repent.
During the second Ashra, increase your Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) — recite it after every prayer, before sleeping, and at dawn. Just as you ask Allah to forgive you, also forgive others in your heart. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah is more merciful to His servants than a mother to her children.”
Third Ashra — Days 21 to 30 (Nijat — Salvation from Hellfire)
Third Ashra — النَّجَاة
Days 21–30 · March 10 – March 19, 2026 · Theme: Salvation (Nijat) + Laylatul Qadr
The third and final Ashra is the most powerful period of Ramadan — the Days of Salvation (Nijat) from Hellfire. This Ashra contains the Night of Power (Laylatul Qadr) — a single night better than a thousand months (Surah Al-Qadr). The Prophet ﷺ would increase his worship tremendously in these last ten days, including I’tikaf (seclusion in the mosque).
Seek Laylatul Qadr on the odd nights — 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, and 29th of Ramadan. The 27th night (March 16–17, 2026) is considered most likely. Recite the special Laylatul Qadr dua abundantly and spend these nights in Salah, Quran, and Dhikr. These nights could change your entire life.
Laylatul Qadr 2026 — Nights to Watch
Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Power) is hidden in the odd nights of the last 10 days of Ramadan. Worshipping on this single night earns reward greater than 83 years of worship. Allah says in the Quran: “The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.” (Surah Al-Qadr 97:3)
